Chiropractic for rural North Dakotan families
Dr. Susan Asheim has served the Stanley, ND community since 2022. She has extensive training in pediatric and perinatal care, but treats all people. With a deep passion for supporting families in small towns, Dr. Asheim's hallmark is her empathy—delivering care that is thorough, sincere, and tailored to each individual. She treats patients with the same attentiveness she would offer her own family and ensures each person receives the right care, or referral, for their condition.
Driven by connection and collaboration, Dr. Asheim works closely with her patients to reach their health goals together. Her care extends beyond pain relief into wellness-focused treatment, empowering patients to make sustainable lifestyle changes that help them stay active and fulfilled.
Her practice integrates a broad array of therapeutic modalities, including chiropractic adjustments, dry needling, Webster technique, cupping, myofascial release, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, rehabilitative exercises, and more.
A guiding quote she shares often is, “If you don’t make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness.” —Joyce Sunada
Dr. Asheim grew up on a farm in Larimore, ND before venturing off to earn her degrees from North Dakota State University and Northwestern Health Sciences University. She now lives near Mohall, ND with her husband, toddler, and a Bernese Mountain Dog. Outside the clinic, she enjoys getting outdoors, spending time with family and friends, traveling, skiing, playing board games, hunting, and cooking.
Her path to chiropractic began with her own experience as a volleyball athlete. Chiropractic not only alleviated her physical discomforts but also boosted her performance and immunity. While at NDSU, she worked for a chiropractic neurologist where her curiosity deepened into a passion, as she discovered the vast potential of the human body and chiropractic care.
